Aaaaaand we’re in business. Well, sort of. Meet my sim (that I actually put more effort into than last time I gave TS3 a chance); Clara Whiteridge. I can’t remember her traits because CAS is a jungle and I didn’t want to spend hours in there, she’s some sort of artistic free spirit something or other.
(I have the game minimized and I’m thinking I could maybe fullscreen it to check, but I’m not sure how well TS3 handles being alt-tabbed, so I figure it’s safer to just type this out first.)
I put her on an empty lot in Sunset Valley (???? is that the name of the ‘hood?) and motherloded once, because in order for me to give building a house an actual chance, I feel like I need to have all the options open to me.
I didn’t get further with CC than default skin, eyes and a lighting mod I can’t actually tell if is working or not because honestly I haven’t really got a clue what it’s supposed to look like… the colors are cute though (?) and aside from the TS3 camera controls being horribly jerky, I’m not hating it so far. But you know, baby steps…
I may or may not have gone completely flippin’ overboard and installed all the EPs and SPs after I broke base game’s install yesterday by updating it (?) or trying to no-CD crack it (??) or Origin getting upset with me (?????) so… yeah. In for a penny, in for a pound, I’m thinking if I seriously committed lots of time on installing and setting up the game, I’m less likely to give up 5 minutes in.
Oh, and when I say I installed all the EPs and SPs, I of course mean all of them except that stupid Katy Perry SP - because really, I mean… why. Just why, EA.
I shall go back to looking into more “complicated” (i.e. diving into the CC jungle) CC once I’ve poked about a bit in the game as it is now, I think. At least the eyes are nicer with defaults!
Wish me luck.
